This happens with such inventiveness in London as it happens in very few places in the world – there can be a theatre everywhere people are allowed to gather. Movingstage invested in a boat to present their work – Puppet Theatre Barge. They create this bizarre and entrancing atmosphere giving the audience the feeling of going on a voyage to another reality.

With stories such as Babe and Charlotte’s Web jumping to mind, these really capture the imagination of audiences both young and old. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight @ The Puppet Theatre Barge Review

On first glance, Richmond-On-Thames appears to be an unassuming, picturesque haven with characteristic riverboats gliding down the Thames, to friendly passers by casually strolling along the river bank. However, looks may appear deceiving as one river boat in particular transports its passengers to a completely different world altogether. As the Puppet Theatre Barge embarks on an adventure all of its own, audience members watch on as a 14th Century Arthurian legend plays out before their very eyes.

A Child’s Garden Of Verse @ The Puppet Theatre Barge Review

On entering the Puppet Barge, it felt as though you were crossing the threshold into an entirely different world. This feeling was sustained throughout the entire performance. The air of enchantment and excitement that surrounded the performance made it a great piece of theatre to be enjoyed by people of all ages.
